Head chef/kitchen manager – (£25-35,000 negotiable depending on experience)

We are currently looking for an experienced kitchen manager/chef to take day-to-day control of our pub kitchen.

The Millers Bar is a multi-award winning family and dog friendly pub based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. Sitting alongside the canal, the stunning beer garden is the ideal location to eat and drink with friends and family.

We pride ourselves on our friendly and attentive staff and are looking for someone who shares these values and will slot seamlessly in with our small team.

What we need from you:
– Adherence to Health & Safety and Environmental Health regulations and requirements
– Support, motivate and manage a small team of line chefs and kitchen porters
– Ensuring all food is prepared, cooked and ready to serve quickly and efficiently, maintaining the standards our loyal customers are used to.
– Work with the bar and front of house managers to ensure the smooth flow of service and operations across departments.
– Developing seasonal menus and dishes, based on monthly sales figures
– Organizing and completing any kitchen admin
– Ordering stock and maintaining sufficient stock levels, and minimizing wastage through correct stock management
– Ensuring correct staffing levels and taking an active role in the recruitment of any kitchen staff
– Taking a proactive role in trying to boost sales and profitability to meet sales targets

The ideal candidate will:
– Have experience working as a head chef/kitchen manager (essential)
– Have experience managing others/great leadership skills
– Hold food hygiene certificates (preferable but not essential)
– Be competent with costings/GP and stock management
– Have an eye for detail
– Be self motivated and confident
– Have a flexible approach to working patterns
– Have proof of right to work in the UK (essential)
– Be able to work evenings and weekends
– Be able to maintain a good work life balance

– Ensuring all food is prepared, cooked and ready to serve quickly and efficiently, maintaining the standards our loyal customers are used to.
– Communicate with the bar and front of house to ensure the smooth flow of service and operations across departments.Developing seasonal menus and dishes, based on monthly sales figures
– Completing any kitchen admin as necessary

Experienced Bartender – full time  – £6.83-£9.50+ per hour, dependant on experience

We are currently looking for experienced bartenders to join our team. We are looking to fill one full time position immediately and one full time position from Easter.

We are looking for someone with a few years’ experience – someone who knows their way around a bar and has previously worked in a busy pub/hospitality setting. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate this experience through excellent communication and customer service skills. They’ll also need to know how to pull a decent pint!

As a bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks for our customers and either serving them at the bar or through our team of waiting staff. Other duties will include use of the till and taking orders (for both food and drink), cellar duties and restocking as needed, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.  You will need to work with the bar and front of house team to ensure the smooth flow of service between departments. You’ll also be expected to take a proactive role in trying to boost sales and profitability, by promoting our existing offers and upselling where possible.

The ideal candidate will:
Have 2/3 years’ experience working behind a bar
Experience in using an ePos till system and handling cash/card payments
Be a confident person, with the ability to connect with our great customers
Have a flexible approach to working patterns
Have proof of right to work in the UK (essential)
Be able to work mainly evenings and weekends
Be able to maintain a good work life balance
